What is a CAO Machine Client?
The CAO Machine Client combines the CAO Shopfloor Components that run on Windows: P1 Machine (MavSE),
Pre-Assembly (Pom), Complex Type Application (Zav), Micrograph Application (Mga) and Quality Application
(Qaa).
What is a CAO Office Client?
The CAO Machine Client combines all CAO client components running on Windows that are not listed under
Machine Client.
What will be the latest CAO Machine Client Version supporting Windows 7
Latest CAO Machine Client Version supported on Windows 7 will be 6.x.
Will I be able to Install CAO 7.x on Windows 7?
We do not recommend doing this. A CAO installation larger than Release 7 on Windows 7 is not supported by
DiIT. If Windows 7 must continue to be used, the frozen CAO Client version 6.11 can be used.
What is the minimum Windows version required for CAO 7.x Office Clients?
Windows 10 Version 1607+
Can I use CAO Client/Machine with a version 6.x together with a CAO server version 8.x?
Yes, but maybe some of CAO new features will not be usable
Does Windows 7 clients will work with version 7.0 Server?
Yes, CAO Clients version 6.0 to 6.11, which are all Windows 7 compatible, will work with CAO Server 7.x.
What needs to be considered when upgrading the CAO client / machine from 6.x to 7.x?
The required .NET 4.8 and .NET 8 framework packages are no longer included in our setup package and must
be provided separately by your system administrator.

Is a production stop necessary for update to 7.x?
The update is performed as part of a normal DiIT software product installation of a new release, as you are
used to.
